09/22/2022  Public Notification of Wastewater Discharge

This is East Cedar Creek Fresh Water Supply District notifying you that all customers in the Pleasure land  Subdivision that a wastewater spill has occurred on Pleasure land Rd as a result of a 10” sewer main that separated. The District’s water supply was NOT affected. As a result of this break the District’s monitoring indicates approximately 216,000 gallons of untreated wastewater has overflowed. The District Staff responded to the spill yesterday afternoon at approximately 2pm 09/21/2022 and finished the repair on 09/22/2022 at 3:16pm.

(1) Persons using private drinking water supply wells located within 1/2-mile of the spill site or within the potentially affected area should use only water that has been distilled or boiled at a rolling boil for at least one minute for all personal uses including drinking, cooking, bathing, and tooth brushing. Individuals with private water wells should have their well water tested and disinfected, if necessary, prior to discontinuing distillation or boiling.

(2) Persons who purchase water from a public water supply may contact their water supply distributor to determine if the water is safe for personal use.

(3) The public should avoid contact with waste material, soil, or water in the area potentially affected by the spill.

(4) If the public comes into contact with waste material, soil, or water potentially affected by the spill, they should bathe and wash clothes thoroughly as soon as possible.

 BOARD MEETINGS

Board Meetings are every third Wednesday of the month at 12:30pm at the Administration Building.  


The District's Board meetings are open to the public and we will strive to maintain social distancing and will also be available by video/telephone conference on Zoom as long as possible. The link to join the meetings by zoom video and/or telephone conference will be posted under the "Public Notice" page above at least 72 hours before the meetings are held. You can also contact our office for the zoom meeting details. *****Please note as of September 1st, 2021 anyone wishing to participate in meeting will be required to be visibly seen and clearly audible to other participants. *********


Our Board Meetings are held on every third Wednesday of the month unless otherwise posted (see public notice section on this website). These meetings are open to the public and there is always a Public Comment section on the agenda. The Public Comment section is for the Public to address non-agenda items and/or request that their item to be considered on a future agenda. Individuals are limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes. The Board cannot deliberate or take action on non-agenda items. On 08/21/2019 the Board of Directors adopted the following rules effective September 1, 2019 for allowing each member of the public who desires to address the Board regarding an item on an agenda for all open meetings. BOARD ELECTIONS NOTIFICATIONS:


Elections for Board Members are held every even number years in November. The District tries to do a joint election, contracting through the Henderson County Elections Office.

The District's next election will be held on November 8, 2022. The deadline to file a candidate application for this election will be August 22, 2022.

  • On 08/17/2022 The Board of Directors approve to "Order an Election".
  • Deadline to file a candidate application is Monday August 22, 2022.
